Calstones Antiquing Standards?
Our objective is to randomly distress the stones to in order to achieve an imperfect aged appearance. All antiqued stones will have at least one, and possibly all of the following characteristics: broken edges, broken corners, abrasions, chipping, and temporary scratches and muted color vibrancy.

Barrel Tumbled Antiquing – Used for Cobble, Mission, Roman Stone, Bullnose, and others on special order produced in San Martin
• Broken edges and corners limited to 15% of the length of the side that is broken at the surface.
• Broken corners and edges at the bottom of the paver may be up to twice the size of the break as measured at the surface.
• Duraface pavers – Abrasions and chipping may be any size in length and width but may be no deeper than the Duraface layer. Base mix must not be visible from the surface.
• Thru-mix products – Abrasions and chipping may be any size in length and width but may be no deeper than 20% of the total unit depth on, (This is ½” on 60 mm pavers/bullnose and ¾” on the large surface of Roman Stone)
